once again,
our form 3 non-athletes have gotten a SILVER.
all this while,
our year have always gotten silver.
let's go down memory lane shall we.
2007' we were fresh faced form one-ers, and our very first non-athlete game was WATER BALLOONS. this was the most shuang game ever. ^.^
i was the form 1 so-called leader. and yuga was leader for playne too.
we kept practicing throwing the balloons from super far distances but
when it came to the real day, the distance was so unbelievably short.
we got SILVER for the first time.
POPE house got 2nd place.
2008' leader again. this time the game was a little harder with all those tiny beans.
SILVER once more. and Yuga was leader again too.
POPE got the SECOND PLACE. together with the Discipline Cup. to the dismay of the Playnians who got it year in year out. our cheerleaders got 1st place too.
this year was the really bangkit year for us, POPEeans.
we were 3rd of 4th place at first, but after the athletic events, we jumped up to 2nd.
spirits were on high. and McNeil bangkited too, to 1st place status.
2009' heheh....this year was a really simple game. but yet, we still got SILVER. us the form threes. hehe...see our triple silver? yuga was leader TOO.
this year, we are at last place after the shotput and non-ath and sukan tara.
but still, my hopes are up that our athletes, marchers and cheerleaders can win it for POPE. let's see what God has decided this Saturday.
Hopefully we get the champion, or even 2nd place.
hopefully, just hopefully.
ohya, with Ong An Chyi heading the art department,
we might just get the most creative theme and deco too ^.^
"AN CHYI U RAWK!"
haha..
nonetheless,
what sports day is complete without it's fair share of bad moments.
as we the form threes were competing,
me and cheryl who had already completed our turn were shouting words of encouragement to our fellow friends.
we shouted " MA MAN LEI"
cantonese for slow down.
because we were asking our fellow friends to take their time in blowing the ping-pong ball.
TAKE NOTE : 3, just 3 words of chinese.
who would have known,
after the game ended,
Miss Goh,
yes, the Miss Goh, the principal
sort of stopped us and asked me and cheryl's classes.
and she went on about how inappropriate it was and "no matter what, as a prefect, u should know better".
and that very moment,
I was like,
{in my mind}
you are going to demerit MY CLASS just for THREE words of ENCOURAGEMENT?
and as st. marians would know,
a demerit from the principal is a costly 20 MARKS.
three words, just three words.
as I have been taught,
when it comes to the spirit of sportsmanship,
there is ABSOLUTELY NO LANGUAGE BARRIER.
in fact, our team mates will feel more at ease, more safe, and LESS pressured
when they are reassured in their own comfortable language.
I'm a little speechless..
I prayed and prayed she would forget about demeriting my beloved class,
and even more so, POPE.
thank the Lord,
she has not till today, enter my class and demerit.
I THANK GOD,SO MUCH.
even if she does,
I'll take it like a MATURED WOMAN.
=)
