i WAS back rather,
yesterday.
i had to miss a deepavali outing at Leva's house on deepavali day
sorry leva, hope you had a happy Deep^^
all because my pa had 'commited' me and mom to a eating expedition.
apparently, its a once in a lifetime thing.
yes, i repeat EATING EXPEDITION.
we started out at around 1pm.
all the uncles and aunties plus us the children met at church first
then we began our so-called EPIC journey
of three hours to Temerloh, Pahang
just to eat
we drove for about 1 hour+ before stopping at Karak town to sample
the town specialty of
DURIAN BOM
haha..i find the name cute.
we then continued driving ..
we passed by Sungai Pahang
and even saw a signboard to Tasik Bera
and we passed by FELDA Triang^^
i AM becoming a geography geek
the journey was a rather pleasant geographical journey.
when i saw the signboard stating FELDA Triang,
i shouted like jakun.haha..
all u form 2 ppl! this is a place mentioned in the textbook (talking to u:hoyan and littlerain)
so after 2 hours more of winding dizziness
we finally reached the place we drove 3 freaking long hours for.^^
so u can imagine : suddenly a group of kl ppl invading the small kampung area and disturbing the peace there.XD
we waited for awhile for the restaurant ppl to set up.
there are only 4 tables in the restaurant..so its exclusive la..
only by booking.
let's get started on the food shall we.
first of all..
this is the place. Mengkarak, Pahang.
this is the Buddha Jump Over The Wall dish.
this was boiled for 8 hours to perfection.
THIS was what we drove 3 hours for.
as for the taste..yah, its kinda good..
there's abalone, fish stomach, black chicken and all sorts of chinese delicacies
next..
we had the pig's trotters (aka nice word for pig's feet/leg) with sea cucumber
this is the sharksfin soup with scallop
by now, the uncles were on their feet standing up and eating. {HANGAT}
they syioksendiri edi..^^
this is what I call COMMITMENT TO FOOD
next..the dish i never ate
except one spoon of the soup
tortoise soup
that's the shell right there
this is the very large fish aka sui malau : translated : water monkey
this is the super large super fresh prawns with oats i think, in super large amounts
after this, there was vegetables and fruits
which i didn't bother to take pics of.
i was busy eating the prawns..XD
so we washed hands and savoured the last bit of our once-in-a-lifetime chinese meal.
this is it, Chuan Kee Restaurant
that's the uncles + my two friends
boy in red : daniel &
boy in green : ir vin.
